A few words about project

Storyboard shot #00.jpg

“I live in a well. I live like smoke in the well. Like vapour in a stone throat. I don’t move. I don’t do anything but wait. Overhead I see the cold stars of night and morning, and I see the sun…

…I wait in cool silence and there will be a day when I no longer wait”.

“The One Who Waits”. Ray Bradbury, 1949

Imagine for a second that you are a Martian.

No, imagine that you are a Martian ghost. A Martian ghost, living in a well. And then a shining rocket with a crew of brave space explorers in their silver spacesuits comes on Mars, to you.

Have you imagined that?

And what does it like – to be a ghost? A Martian ghost?
What does it like – to have no body? To be adhered to your cool dwelling and the only thing to see is a piece of blue sky above.
How is it – not to see that others see, and see that they don’t?
What does it like – to find yourself in somebody else’s body, which sees the world in a different way? And how is it possible?

“I Wait” – is a virtual slice of Mars on which you should go through story events on behalf of that Martian ghost. It is a computer game in which you move ahead on a plot, discovering yourself and your abilities, the world around you and its guests – astronauts. But you can’t call “I Wait” Project “a game” in a usual way; much more appropriate definitions are “a virtual experience” and “an interactive narration”. Most of all, the “I Wait” Project is similar to an adventure game in the first person perspective, where solutions of “puzzles” are absent, and the gameplay is aimed at a narration. No doubt our recipient is a player, nevertheless not a “gamer”, but a person ready to become a participant in a virtual act.

“I Wait” – is a storytelling that gives player a chance to take a part in, to receive an utterly fresh, unusual experience impossible in non-interactive media.
